Effective Messaging in Politically Divided Times

“Renewables” “climate” “clean energy” have all become trigger words that evoke strong reactions on both sides of the political divide that is our country now, putting the growth of clean energy projects at risk in many areas – and yet, most people including elected officials support clean energy growth. Messaging on the benefits of policy and projects along these traditional tropes more and more only serves to stir up opposition putting needed approvals at risk. In this discussion, we’ll discuss the nuances of strategic messaging, bolstered by opinion research and experts on the ground. We’ll share content that has already been developed and is being used in some key markets. And, we’ll discuss how both individual companies as well as their associations can each be effective and complement one another through strategic messaging and collaboration.
