Elizabeth “Libby” Jacobs is president of The Jacobs Group, LLC, a Des Moines, Iowa-based consulting firm specializing in the energy and regulated utilities industries. The company focuses on state and regulatory policy, business development, and strategic communications.

Jacobs formerly served on the Iowa Utilities Board, including four years as chair. Previously she had a 20-year career with the Principal Financial Group serving as Community Relations Director for the last 14 years of that career.

In addition, Jacobs served seven terms in the Iowa House of Representatives. She was elected by her peers to serve seven years as Majority Whip.

Currently Jacobs serves on the board of directors of Community State Bank and QCR Holdings and is board chair of Goodwill of Central Iowa. She also serves on the board of Iowa Public Radio and the Taxpayers Association of Central Iowa.

Jacobs earned her B.A. “With Distinction” in political science from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and her Master of Public Administration from Drake University.
